Same as every season, Vogue team has reviewed hundreds and hundreds of FW18 collections, with the most remarkable ones taking a spot on the fashion bible’s TOP 12 list.
There is one name that made it to the prestigious fashion chart for the 5th time in a row: Simone Rocha!
For the upcoming season , the young designer, we fell for at the very beginning of her career, joins the crème de la crème, including Chanel, Balenciaga, Versace, Gucci, Burberry or Sacai (here’s the full list).
Simone Rocha graduated from The National College of Art and Design in Dublin and the acclaimed Fashion MA at Central Saint Martin’s College in London, in 2008 and 2010 respectively.
Since her London Fashion Week debut the very same year, Simone’s fashion star has been rapidly rising. She’s loved all over the globe for her signature modern approach to femininity and delicate aesthetic with just the perfect dose of boldness.
Simone’s unique sensibility brought her a lot of recognitions over the years. She was named Young Designer of the Year in 2014 by Harper’s Bazaar, and two years later, Womenswear Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards.
In the poetic world of Simone Rocha, each and every collection has a story to tell. The current one is influenced by porcelain dolls in Victorian dresses, she used to play with as a child.
Her FW18 collection is inspired by John Constable’s portrait of young Mary Freer from the 19th century, and the designer masterly plays with textures and layers. Feminine with an edge, Simone Rocha collections are not just about garments but about modern women with fierce attitude.
