For Dries Van Noten, the first rule of fashion is “there are no rules”.
The Belgian designer is renowned and loved for the fabrics used to elaborate his collections and for his innovative prints and embroideries, all inspired by everything from “many varied creative fields, from art to cinema, music to the performing arts”.
Dries Van Noten released his debut eponymous collection of menswear back in 1986, as part of The Antwerp Six collective.
For more than 30 years he’s been encouraging creative freedom with his signature eclectic intellectual aesthetic.
Since then he blessed the fashion world with more than a hundred shows, eagerly awaited because of everything from the invitation to the scenography, to the selection of locations and, of course, his boldly independent and unapologetically forward-thinking designs, he continues to surprise and amaze with.
His latest proposal for men is a new class in mixology, featuring colorful marbled prints, Western inspired garments, delicate-yet-bold broderie anglaise and exclusive artwork by Kentucky-based artist and musician Robert Beatty.
Every single piece from Dries Van Noten’s FW18 collection is a statement of its own.
Here’s an alert: You’ll most probably want it all!
